Will banks accept your Bitcoins?
The price of Bitcoin, the largest cryptoasset in the world, went from cents in 2009 to its highest value of EUR54.000 in 2021. To date, its price has dropped to near EUR28.249. Bitcoin and other cryptoassets have finally sparked the interest of regulators across the world. The Basel Committee recently released a consultation paper, presenting a framework of how both banks and regulators should go about the prudential treatment of cryptoassets.
