Telecom Luxembourg is proud to announce its partnership with OnLive, Inc., the pioneer of cloud gaming, which will locate its datacenter infrastructure and managed services for the UK and mainland European markets in Luxembourg.

“We are delighted to have been selected by OnLive to provide our leading technical solutions as part of its cloud gaming service’s European expansion. Telecom Luxembourg’s highcapacity datacenter is superbly placed to deliver OnLive’s strategic and infrastructural needs with an operational emphasis on flexibility and control,” said Vincent Nicolay, COO of Telecom Luxembourg S.A.

OnLive’s groundbreaking cloud gaming service instantly delivers the latest high-performance video games to TVs, PCs and Macs® over home broadband Internet, as well as to millions of other consumer electronic devices, iPad/Android tablets and smartphones.

“When we first discussed overseas expansion, the key for us was to be located right at the center of Europe to minimize latency and costs,” said OnLive VP of Operations Charlie Jablonski. “When we started to compare the technological aspects and the different existing methodologies throughout Europe to do business, we came to the conclusion that Luxembourg made most sense both in the short- and long-term. The choice of Telecom Luxembourg was also a strategic one, based on the quality of its equipment, its strong presence and efficient services.”

OnLive will make its first appearance in Luxembourg during the ICT Spring conference on June 28 and 29, 2011, alongside Telecom Luxembourg. The OnLive Game Service will launch in the UK this autumn and will steadily expand to other European countries following the UK. OnLive in Europe will launch with more than 100 games, including the latest top titles and will be seamlessly integrated with OnLive’s North American service.
