Gilles Rod is the director of the public institution Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.
The Œuvre has assumed a prominent role in organizing and financing philanthropy and solidarity in Luxembourg by helping to finance foundations and associations addressing social issues, as well as environment, culture and sport activities. The financial means necessary for this purpose are essentially generated by the National Lottery.
In 1999 Gilles Rod graduated in Psychology (Strasbourg) and started working at ADEM as a counselor for 2 years. After this he managed a workplace for mentally ill persons for 6 years (ATP asbl). He then served as the managing director of CNDS asbl for 10 years.
