A tax lawyer based in Luxembourg, Jean Schaffner is the founder of Schaffner Tax & Legal. He has more than 30 years of practice in Luxembourg and international taxation, advising on investment structuring and international acquisitions using Luxembourg regulated and non-regulated vehicles, as well as acting for international investment banks on tax structured finance schemes. He is the author or co-author of reference works on Luxembourg and international taxation, including General Principles of Luxembourg Taxation (2010), Droit fiscal luxembourgeois (2013) and Droit fiscal international (2018), and serves as co-editor-in-chief of Revue de droit fiscal.
A member of the Luxembourg Bar's institutional bodies, Jean Schaffner chairs the Commission droit fiscal and previously served as a member of the Luxembourg Bar Council. He also heads the scientific board of the Luxembourg branch of the International Fiscal Association.
