See Ukrainian Eurovision winners Kalush Orchestra in concert

The Kalush Orchestra is coming to the Rockhal on 29 September 2024. “Their Eurovision victory with the song ‘Stefania’--originally dedicated to Oleh Psiuk's mother--propelled their music onto the international stage, making it an anthem of resilience for Ukraine,” says Cineast. The CinEast festival, in partnership with Rockhal, is welcoming the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra, winners of Eurovision 2022, for an exceptional concert.

Part of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to the ‘CinEast4Ukraine’ initiative, the film festival explains, which aims to support the victims of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

“Kalush Orchestra, founded in 2019, features a unique fusion of rap and Ukrainian folk music,” says Cineast. “Their sound blends traditional elements, such as melodies and Ukrainian folk instruments like the bandura and trumpet, with modern rap and hip-hop influences.”

“The group, initially made up of Oleh Psiuk, Ihor Didenchuk and MC CarpetMan, expanded with the arrival of multi-instrumentalists Tymofii Muzychuk and Vitalik Duzhyk. Together, they have developed a style characterised by danceable rhythms, deep, committed lyrics and sophisticated musical arrangements that capture the spirit of their hometown, Kalush, at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. Their performances incorporate authentic elements of traditional music while exploring contemporary sounds, creating a bridge between past and present.”

Tickets are available . For each ticket sold on the Eventive platform, €5 will be donated to the CinEast4Ukraine project to help the victims of Russia’s war in Ukraine. Check out the event page on Facebook  or see videos on Youtube .
