CinEast Festival, 5-22 October

The 16th edition of the Central and Eastern European Film Festival, which takes place from 5 to 22 October, will feature a selection of more than 100 recent films produced in countries of the former eastern bloc.
More than 60 feature films and 40 short films will be shown at cinemas throughout Luxembourg, including the Cinémathèque, Neimënster, Ciné Utopia, Kinepolis Kirchberg, Ancien Cinema (Vianden) and others. Attendees will also be able to meet special guests and ask questions during Q&A sessions, as well as participate in ciné-debates.
This year’s edition of the Cineast festival will have a focus on Ukraine, with screenings of recent films from and about Ukraine, Ukrainian guests and a concert. The festival will also collect money for , a charity project that helps the victims of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Funds raised last year were used to purchase an ambulance and sleeping bags for Ukraine.
The festival programme also features a photo exhibition and musical events, such as a concert by the Ukrainian folk group Yagody, the Bosnian band Dubioza Kloektiv, the Polish group Czerwie and many more, as well as activities for kids and opportunities to taste traditional Eastern European cuisine.
