Author, director and actor Julien Mellano brings his zany show Ersatz to Neimënster this weekend.

Ersatz is described as “an object theatre play inspired by the fantasy series Black Mirror” that questions the future of humanity in the age of techno-science.

Author, director and actor Julien Mellano uses humour the zany distance that theatre allows to examine whether technology we once thought of as science fiction is in fact very close to becoming reality.

He probes virtual reality to offer his audience a fantasized vision of the people of tomorrow using bits of cardboard, wool and twisted bricolage to create DIY special effects for the play’s “low-tech” version.

The performance is dialogue-free and accessible to audiences above the age of 12.
