Decorate your bike for King’s Day

The Dutch embassy in Luxembourg is marking King’s Day with a competition for the most creative bike decoration.

King’s Day is celebrated on 27 April every year, similar to Luxembourg’s national day on 23 June. In the Netherlands, however, it marks the actual birthday of King Willem-Alexander. 

To get a slice of the action in the grand duchy, which was long ruled by the Dutch royal family, the Dutch embassy is hosting a bike decorating competition. Simply adorn your bicycle--another Dutch staple--in red, white and blue or orange and send a photo to [email protected] indicating your name and address.

The best three bikes will win gift baskets filled with Dutch goodies. 

Scooters, pushchairs, walking frames and tricyles are also eligible. Entries can be sent until 17 April included.
