Erica combines science and business related experience and currently holds the position of Director at the Advisory Department of PwC Luxembourg. Erica holds a PhD in veterinary medicine, and started her career in the research departments of various universities in Belgium, Italy and the United States. Prior to joining PwC, Erica has worked for Baxter Healthcare, where she was in charge of managing several businesses throughout the western European countries. Erica is passionate about the mix of innate characteristics and cultural background influencing the way we solve problems.

Erica wishes she could have 'a courage manual', with all instructions inside, but so far it hasn't been created. On her quest for answers, Erica comes across many interesting facts of life, such as the difference between courage in materialist and post-materialist countries, and the different risk-taking inclinations between men and women.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
