BIO: Philippe Schlesser is a Luxembourg-born designer with a Danish and Canadian design background and is the co-founder of mellem, a product and service design studio based in Luxembourg. He is also interested in design for human and social development and has recently launched the social design organization DesignAid.org. Philippe is a lecturer at the Cell for Sustainable Development at the University of Luxembourg and works as a networker, promoter, educator and event organizer in the international design industry.

TALK: Philippe will talk about Product Design as the creative source behind most products that are manufactured today. The design defines material and production techniques. Philippe examines the choices we make as designers, manufacturers and as consumers by going back to the root of all products, and comparing the now and then.
