What are the sustainability challenges and trends in Luxembourg and globally? Which legislative steps are needed to foster a sustainable, fair and resilient economy and way of life? What can we as citizens do to support change? Join us on 21 June for our first annual event entirely focused on sustainability.

Sustainability has evolved from a buzzword to the most pertinent challenge of our time. It is not a question of whether or when—but how best and how fast we can act individually and as one.

Are you prepared to fully tackle this challenge on all fronts? From food and goods consumption, transportation methods, energy production and infrastructure to sustainable finance, governance and transparency, there is a myriad of areas to be reviewed, re-envisioned and acted upon—with the ultimate goal of slowing climate change and preserving our planet.

To both inform and spark the formation of strategies and guidance, Deloitte Luxembourg introduces its first annual event on sustainability, the 2022 Momentum Conference in June.

This inclusive event will unite different generations of speakers and follow an industry-agnostic approach, covering the impact of various sustainability challenges on our daily lives, society and economy, as well as the financial, consumer and manufacturing sectors.

A few highlights of the upcoming milestone event:

-        Selma Vincent, a student at Sciences Po in Paris and founding member of Youth For Climate, will outline the effects of climate change and the concrete measures Generation Z is expecting in the day’s first keynote speech.

-        A regulatory and legislative horizon session will discuss whether the EU sustainable finance framework is delivering the expected results.

-        To zoom in on sustainability from a technological and financial perspective, the LHoFT will present the first results of the Sustainability FinTech Survey, recently conducted together with Deloitte Luxembourg.

-        Three consecutive sessions will focus on sustainable finance, consumption and production, asking how we can leverage existing structures and processes in these sectors to make a measurable impact.

-        Steps toward a more sustainable economy are being taken, but how can we measure the impact? The question of gathering data and reporting will be debated in a panel with representatives of a renowned research institution and a global provider of financial market data.

-        Last but not least, the concluding panel will analyze the role of the Chief Sustainability Officer.

The inaugural Momentum Conference will take place in Deloitte’s beautiful Gasperich auditorium, and participants can also visit a special photo exhibition at DSquare by French nature and fine art photographer Philippe Bourseiller. The exhibition, titled “Nature”, will feature the artist’s perspective on the state of sustainable development worldwide with the aim of making the audience reflect on the global phenomenon of climate change.

The conference on 21 June is set to be a promising milestone for knowledge and action, following the motto of Know—Form—Act.
