En amont de l’événement Start-up Stories: Round 2 organisé par le Paperjam + Delano Club le jeudi 1er avril, le représentant de la société Trustless, Rufo Guerreschi, partage sa vision d’entrepreneur.

From the idea to its realisation, there is only one step… and yet. What triggered your entrepreneurial adventure?

Rufo Guerreschi. – “For 20 years, I have founded start-ups and associations in single-minded pursuit to bring the principles of democracy and civil rights to cyberspace. After Snowden showed us in 2013 how all IT was broken down to the hardware by powerful governments to enable them to catch the bad guys, we realised that we need to create a brand new computing device, as a complement to your smartphone, to achieve meaningful levels of security. We also realised we need to build a new independent IT security certification body to validate such a level of privacy and security, while also certifying safe procedural mechanisms to enable legitimate lawful access.

What are the qualities needed to launch your start-up?

“Several qualities are needed to launch a start-up, all of which quite important. You need strong motivation and determination. You need to be able to think strategically and holistically about your business and be able to be very efficient at execution and at continually re-prioritising what are your most important tasks and objectives. You need a good personality that will attract a team, cofounders, clients and investors.

Do you have any advice to give to those who are still hesitant to get started?

“Start with a cofounder. If you want to start, allocate a large amount of time to define your initial simple business plan and deck, and get as much feedback as possible to iterate it. As soon as possible try to confront persons that are expert about the problem you are solving for your target clients, ideally the target clients themselves.”
