Could you please, in a few words, describe for us your company’s activity?

“Apex Group Ltd. (‘Apex’) is one of the top five largest fund administrators globally.

Established in Bermuda in 2003, Apex provides fund administration, middle office, custody, depositary and corporate services to asset managers worldwide. 

Apex was founded on a philosophy of delivering client-centric service at a local level. With offices in more than 40 locations and over 2000+ staff globally Apex maintains a personal touch delivering service to its clients in their time zone, speaking their language. Apex has experienced transformational growth over the past year through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisition.

As the group evolves into a stronger institutional business with enhanced products and solutions, its collective mission is to maintain the high levels of personal service its clients have come to expect. Apex now administers circa $560bn AuA in assets. The acquisitions of Deutsche Bank’s Alternative Fund Services business, Warburg Bank and Warburg Invest Luxembourg, Ipes and most recently LRI Group, have bolstered the group’s European presence; the Luxembourg office will now become one of the group’s largest globally with a local team of around 450 employees. 

The transition from a small Luxembourg office to a huge market player brings with it both opportunities and challenges. Apex looks to leverage the exceptional knowledge, experience and expertise available in the local Luxembourg talent pool to ensure continued success and sustainable growth.

You have just joined the Paperjam Club. What convinced you to do so?

“Luxembourg is the leading investment fund centre in Europe and second only in the world behind the United States. The reason for this is a highly tuned legal and regulatory framework combining rigorous investor protection with an unequalled degree of innovation and flexibility in fund design, a flexibility that allows products to be tailored to the needs of a specific market or client group. Apex’s expanding presence and capabilities in Luxembourg mean that it places great importance on actively engaging with the local market and being a proactive member of its financial services community, forums and networks.

Joining the Paperjam Club is a great opportunity for Apex to not only evolve its brand locally, but also engage in the community and focus on culture.

What in particular are you looking to get from the Club? And what does your organisation have to offer to other Club members?

“The Apex Group looks to work with Paperjam and its members to better connect and communicate with the market. To better exchange ideas and engage with the Luxembourg asset management community. The European market is ever evolving through regulation and political change. Asset managers are increasingly looking to jurisdictions such as Luxembourg, not only in light of developments such as Brexit, but also due to its AAA rating and well-established reputation as a key domicile for the asset management space.”
