"We want to have a reference airport in the Greater Region," said Lucien Lux, the Minister for Transport. With the new terminal to open in April 2008, the airport will offer a capacity of 3 million passengers a year. Three new airline companies: Iceland Express, Skyways (Sweden) and Transaero Airlines (Russia) are about to join the 14 transportation systems already operating in Luxembourg to a total of 62 destinations.

In the meanwhile, Lux Airport reinforces its communication offensive with the launch of a new Website (www.luxairport.lu) and a new white-red-grey logo, the colors symbolising among others Luxembourg and its industry, as well as dynamism, audacity and amplitude, whereas the forms represent business excellence and realism and architecture solidity. The logo was created by Mikado Advertising, a communication agency based in Luxembourg City. Lux airport did not wish to give further details on its price.

Also, a 'family day' will be organised on September 9; 50 families chosen by final draw will be given the opportunity to visit the new terminal.

Founded in 2001, Lux Airport is a subsidiary of Aéroport de Luxembourg, Luxembourg's airport company. Its main missions include the construction, financing and operation of both the new air and small carriers terminals, the financing and operation of the new terminal's parking facility, the development and implementation of a total safety plan for persons and infrastructures, as well as the real estate management of the Airport.
