Toraja Coffee
Kopi Toraja also known as Toraja Coffee is a type of Arabica coffee produced only in the Indonesian island of Sulawesi and developed by Agri-Resources Indonesia.
This island is famous for producing high quality coffees in its three highland regions: Toraja, Kalossi and Mamasa. Toraja Arabica owes its name to the central highlands of Southern Sulawesi called Tanah Toraja. The coffee is produced at an altitude between 1,000 to 1,700 m.a.s.l. and the yearly production ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 tons.
A good Toraja is well-balanced with undertones of ripe fruit and dark chocolate, making it slightly sweeter than Arabica’s from north Sulawesi. The coffee has a low acidity, though it is slightly more acidic and with less body than the Sumatra Arabica. It is also often earthier than Java Arabica.
