He specialises in tax structuring for investment funds (private equity, infrastructure, real estate and debt funds), in particular with respect to German investments and investors. Dr Philipp Jost advises clients on international tax planning questions, and gives transactional tax advice in connection with cross-border mergers and acquisition transactions and corporate restructuring. He is also active in the structuring of capital market transactions, such as IPOs and debt issuance.
Before joining Arendt & Medernach in 2016, he spent several years as a tax lawyer for an international law firm in Frankfurt, Germany.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Konstanz on the topic of German CFC regulation and EU tax law (Dr. iur.) as well as a master of laws (LL.M.) in commercial law from the University of Auckland.
