SES WORLD SKIES, a division of SES S.A. (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), today announced a new capacity deal with Axesat aimed at meeting escalating corporate service demand across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Axesat is utilizing two transponders aboard SES’ AMC-4 satellite at 67° West to provide business voice, data and internet access services to companies in Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Central America and the Caribbean.

SES deployed the AMC-4 spacecraft to the 67° West orbital slot in September 2010, as part of an agreement with the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) to deliver much needed high power Ku-band capacity to the Andean region. This new capacity is enabling the immediate expansion of many voice, data, Internet and video networks in the Andean countries, Central America, México and the Caribbean.

«SES and its AMC-4 satellite offer the expertise and tailored coverage Axesat must have to take advantage of tremendous growth opportunities throughout the region we serve,» said Maurico Segovia, Axesat CEO. «Axesat is now well positioned to meet the growing demand for reliable corporate voice, data and broadband in our emerging markets.»

«Our strategic alliance with the Andean Community of Nations has opened the door to exciting new opportunities like this important new capacity agreement with Axesat,» said Dolores Martos, SES WORLD SKIES’ Vice President of Sales in Latin America and the Caribbean. «We are proud to be able to support Axesat in the implementation of their business plan and to solidify their role as a key player in the region.»
