MRV Communications, Inc., a leading supplier of optical communication systems and related networking equipment, today announced that Luxembourg Telecom has elected to expand its nationwide Data Center services over a scalable and reliable low-latency fiber optic network powered by MRV.

Earlier this year, MRV announced that Luxembourg telecom had selected MRV’s LambdaDriver® wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) & optical transport system to build a high-speed fiber optic ring network to connect all of its data centers in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg Telecom is the country’s first provider of countrywide data center interconnect services at speeds up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps). By implementing MRV WDM & Optical Transport (LambdaDriver) along with MRV’s OptiSwitch Carrier Ethernet solution, Luxembourg Telecom receives the benefits of end-to-end cost-effective, scalable and resilient service visibility, and high-precision of SLA monitoring at nano-second resolution, across the entire range of services and network topologies.

Interdata, a wholly owned subsidiary of MRV located in Paris, serves as a strategic partner for Luxembourg Telecom, and helped the company integrate the nationwide project with best-in-class professional services.

“Luxembourg Telecom continues to be an innovator in the markets they serve, leveraging MRV’s low latency and high reliability optical communications solutions,” said Barry R. Gorsun, President of the Optical Communications Systems division at MRV. “We are extremely excited to build upon this strong relationship, and look forward to growing with them in the future.”

“As we stated earlier this year, we’re pleased to be working with MRV and are excited about this latest collaboration,” said Vincent Nicolay, sales director at Luxembourg Telecom. “MRV’s products have truly delivered the scale and flexibility that our customers demand. Additionally, the enhanced network continues to reduce costs for Luxembourg Telecom’s customers located outside Luxembourg.”
