A leading developer of intelligent sensing solutions, IEE will be showcasing its Volumetric Object Surveillor (VOS) and People Counter products – both based on 3D MLI SensorTM technology – through interactive displays that will allow visitors to test the technology for themselves.

Volumetric Object Surveillor

Striking a balance between protecting valuable objects and encouraging the public to visit and come within touching distance of paintings, sculptures and other works of art, is a challenging task. IEE’s Volumetric Object Surveillor (VOS) is an innovative technological solution offering reliable protection for all types of valuable objects – from paintings to three-dimensional objects like statues and sculptures – at all times.

With two distinct and configurable alarm zones, VOS provides increased protection by monitoring the volume around an object and triggering an immediate alarm that alerts staff if visitors get too close to a protected item. This not only allows security personnel to take the necessary steps to prevent further intrusion, but also makes the visitors themselves aware that they need to step back.

People Counter

For businesses faced with regulations governing maximum occupancy levels, like the Musée Magritte Museum in Brussels, obtaining an accurate, real-time visitor count is essential. Suspended above each entrance and exit, IEE’s People Counters perform a bi-directional count of each person entering and exiting a room, and trigger a warning signal when a predefined threshold has been reached or exceeded.

With an unprecedented accuracy rate exceeding 99%, the People Counter also allows museums and galleries to analyze historic data and carry out data aggregation, permitting precise calculations including the average time spent inside the exhibition room. With this information they can adjust the layout and tailor the exhibits based on viewing habits of the public, as well as minimize bottlenecks and adjust staff levels accordingly. The information can also be used for marketing activities.

Easy Installation and Integration

Both the Volumetric Object Surveillor and the People Counter have an optimized Design Housing that can easily be installed without requiring invasive aesthetic changes to existing architecture. The Design Housing is available for in-, on- and under-ceiling mounting, providing installation flexibility for all kinds of ceiling structures.
