IEE China, a member of the Luxembourg-based IEE Group, officially celebrated its 10th anniversary on Friday 6 May 2016. In the presence of their Royal Highnesses the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess, H.E. Mr Étienne Schneider, H.E. Mr Paul Steinmetz, Mr Wei Yinyin, vice president of Casic Group, and Mr Li Lixin, president of the HiWing Group of Casic, the event was an opportunity to celebrate IEE China’s achievements during the decade.

Michel Witte, IEE’s president & CEO, and the host of the event, says that this year’s commemoration marks a significant milestone for the company.

“Celebrating 10 successful years of operation in China is an important event for us,” he says. “When we started out we knew there would be challenges, but we also recognised the opportunities there. China was and still is an important growth market for the IEE Group, with a significant amount of potential for new and existing products.”

Mr Witte says that, in the coming years, the company is planning on strengthening its development and manufacturing capabilities in China.

“We want to start new activities for sensing solutions for the emerging markets: industry 4.0, e-health, and intelligent city,” he says. “We’re also considering going one step further and using our new production site in Langfang as a model site for industry 4.0.”

Mr Witte says that despite these exciting new possibilities, the automotive sector will always play an important role for IEE.

“The expansion of other Chinese enterprises, such as Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, has opened new doors and offered new cooperation opportunities for us. And we are looking forward to exploring these in the future.”

Managing director of IEE China, Hans-Joachim Sommer, says that the 10th anniversary is also an opportunity to recognise the commitment of its employees and the support of its partners.

“We currently employ around 600 people in China,” says Mr Sommer. “Many of them have been with us for a number of years. And it is these people – managers and employees alike – that are our greatest asset.”

“Their commitment, their dedication, and their ongoing efforts have made a significant contribution to the success of IEE China over the past decade. I would like to thank them for this support and I look forward to successfully working with them in the future.”

“IEE China’s future is a bright one,” says Mr Witte.

“I’m proud of what the IEE China team has achieved during the past 10 years, and I’m incredibly excited about our future in China,” says Mr Witte. “I’m confident that we can continue to grow as a company, offering cutting-edge sensing technology to our diverse customers.”
