The group announces that Lars Rejding is appointed country chief executive officer designate of HSBC in Luxembourg. He will succeed Nigel H. Fielding, who has decided to retire from HSBC after a career in banking spanning 37 years. The handover of responsibilities will take place over the coming months, subject to regulatory approval. Lars Rejding has held senior positions at HSBC for 19 years, most recently as country chief executive officer of HSBC in Kazakhstan, and previously in Latin America, Russia and Sweden.

HSBC has four main business lines in Luxembourg: Asset Management, Corporate Banking, Private Banking and Securities Services. HSBC has operated in Luxembourg for over 35 years and leverages this local experience combined with the international network of the HSBC Group to deliver solutions to clients from around the world. Key strengths include international banking and cash management services, sophisticated wealth management products and services, and investment fund services with a particular focus on Ucits.
