The BCLB is a platform dedicated to expand and enhance commercial ties between Luxembourg and Brazil, with the following aims: educating, promoting and facilitating inbound and outbound business and cultural exchanges between Luxembourg and Brazil.
Luxembourg is a preferred European hub for European and Asian Foreign Investments in Brazil. At its best (Jan 12) Luxembourg accounted to 1/3 of FDI/Foreign Direct Investments in Brazil. Moreover, since March of last year, the Luxembourg jurisdiction holds “White Listed” qualifying status by the Brazilian Tax Authorities. As a result, private individuals, international companies and financial institutions use Luxembourg´s modern, pragmatic and flexible legal and regulatory framework (Brazil & Lux Double Tax Treaty, VAT, funds legislation etc.) to invest, capture funding, structure, protect and transfer wealth.
Brazil´s position as one of the most attractive emerging markets has increasingly motivated inflow of FDI. Counting with a sophisticated financial system and a structured investment funds industry, Brazil offers, in times of crisis, alternative investment opportunities (industry, infrastructure, commodities, agribusiness, real estate) underlined by sustainable economic growth and high consumption potential. Reversely, the outbound flow of capital into Europe, in a trend of diversification and internationalization of business, is a reality. Despite all that, Brazil and Luxembourg do not have diplomatic representation (Embassy), other than honorary consulates. BCLB also intends to work with officials of both countries to help fill the business information gap.
With over 40 years experience in external audit, banking and financial services equally split between Brazil and Luxembourg, Guilherme Bezerril counts with the support of SGG Group in his voluntary efforts to conduct BCLB to achieve its goals and fulfill the expectations of members and businessmen in both markets.
The BCLB officially began operations on May 23, 2012 ([email protected]. / LBBC LinkedIn Group)
