Following a successful launch in October 2013, the CloudCatalyst consortium is proud to announce the launch of its new website (www.cloudcatalyst.eu). The website has been completely revamped and now contains direct links to the events the consortium takes part in, major news and the different services being developed within the project, such as the “Go-tothe Cloud Service” and the “Cloud Accelerator Toolbox”.

The aim of the CloudCatalyst project is to provide useful tools to foster the adoption of cloud computing within Europe and to better position the European Cloud Computing market. “The tools that we are developing will help companies adopt and deploy cloud solutions, whatever their different needs and requirements are. We will indeed cover all main issues and give a clear overview on a number of topics such as current cloud trends, critical success factors to overcome major technical barriers, data privacy & compliance requirements, and recommendations for quality of service and SLA. This is also why we wanted our new website to present all this information in a user-friendly way, easy to navigate and to perform searches”, explains Dalibor Baskovc, VP EuroCloud Europe.

The project targets the software development and scientific community developing and deploying cloud computing solutions, incubators on local, national and European wide levels, large industries, SMEs, Startups and entrepreneurs with a high need flexible and scalable
solutions.

As a major next step in the coming weeks, a number of market surveys and interviews will be carried out in order to gather key information and to produce an overview of the cloud adoption status – why companies should develop cloud services, what are the company’s internal key issues towards a cloud solution, what are the associated risks and how to address these issues.

In the various surveys and interviews, the CloudCatalyst consortium will be addressing the different target groups mentioned above with the aim to gather and analyse relevant information about the cloud market, cloud adoption/deployment and verify assumptions. This is a major step in the building of the Go-to-the Cloud service platform, which is a collection of management tools, bundling together trend analysis, use cases, and practical recommendations in the form of printable reports. “In addition, we are also planning to organize the first CloudCatalyst workshop with our target groups some time in June”, concludes Domen Baškovec, from Si.mobile.
