According to a recent survey of over 1,000 professionals in the Belux region, conducted by global recruitment consultancy Robert Walters, 56% of professionals working in Luxembourg believe that having some experience working internationally is extremely useful (32%) or essential (24%) for their career development.

The survey also shows that better career opportunities (39%) are the main reason for professionals living in Luxembourg to consider working internationally, followed by the opportunity to have international exposure (31%) and an improved work/life balance (13%).
Only 4% of all respondents would consider working internationally for a lower tax regime.

Robert van den Oord, Manager Robert Walters Luxembourg, commented:
“Implementing a real international mobility strategy for professionals can be one of the most efficient HR programmes organisations can introduce to hire and retain top talent. It can sometimes be difficult in Luxembourg to attract professionals with the right language skills, and if an opportunity for an international career is a factor, it may help professionals to consider Luxembourg as a first step.”
