ChinaLux celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a gala dinner in the Cercle Cité on 6 June 2023 in the presence of HRH the Crown Prince of Luxembourg, HE Mr. Hua Ning, Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, as well as 240 guests.

2022 was a very special year for Luxembourg – the 50-year anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Luxembourg. 2023 is also a very special year for Luxembourg – the 10-year anniversary of the , or ChinaLux.

ChinaLux celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a gala dinner in the Cercle Cité on 6 June 2023, and that in the presence of HRH the Crown Prince of Luxembourg, HE Mr. Hua Ning, Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, as well as 240 guests, including Mr. Carlo Thelen, Ms. Julie Becker, Mr. Rol Reiland, Mr. Jean-Paul Olinger, Mr. Laurent Mosar, Mr. Paul Schonenberg and Mr. Robert Scharfe.

The evening started with a video, showing pictures and videos taken during the 10 years. ChinaLux organized a lot of events in Luxembourg – events on the Belt & Road Initiative, green finance, energy, the revival of dormant brands, to name a few, and of course the Chinese New Year receptions, organized together with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels. ChinaLux also participated in a lot of missions to China organized by and the  – delegations in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, to name a few.

Then Ms. Xie Zhujun, President of ChinaLux, gave a speech, highlighting the networking opportunities provided by the chamber to its members, and expressing her gratitude to all those who support the chamber, including the golden sponsors of the evening, Bank of China, Linklaters and Banque Internationale à Luxembourg.

Next, HE Mr. Hua Ning, Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, gave a speech and commented on the achievements of the chamber and the strong ties between China and Luxembourg.

Then, Mr. , CEO of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, gave a speech, recalling some moments at the creation of the chamber as well as the accreditation of the chamber by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.

Next, Mr. Rupert Hoogewerf, Founder and Chairman of Hurun – the famous China rich list, gave a presentation on unicorns in China and outside of China, stressing the increasing number and importance of those in China.

Finally, Mr. , CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, gave a video speech, stressing the importance of an open dialogue between countries, fostering stronger connections and collaborations between China and Luxembourg/Europe.

Before starting the three-course dinner Mr. Jacques Bortuzzo, Vice President of ChinaLux, invited HRH the Crown Prince of Luxembourg, to cut the birthday cake.

The goal of ChinaLux is to bring the China-Luxembourg communities closer together and create more ties between them, and so ChinaLux cooperates with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, the Chinese Embassy in Luxembourg, the China Culture Center in Luxembourg, the Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance, the Luxembourg Ministry of Economy, the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as many other businesses and non-profit associations in China and Luxembourg.
