One week into the beach and we’re still super excited about our KPMG Plage event. This is the first time we’ve opened our events to the public and we’ve been getting a lot of questions about the who, what, when, where and why. But we have a question for you. Not what do you think, but how do you feel about Luxembourg?

Hey, did I just land in Disneyworld?

A local Scandinavian bar (no names mentioned) flies comedians in from London once a month so that expats can get their live stand-up fix. While the laugh-o-meter might differ with each comedian, the opening joke is always the same. It goes a little something like this… (cue English accent)…

“I got off the plane, looked around, saw your dinky castles, your clean, clean streets and was like 'Hey, did I just land in Disneyworld?'”

Because, yes, we feel that Luxembourg is “a kind of magic”. And the KPMG Plage could be something created by a wand and the magic spell of a young wizard like Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. Not every dream comes true but isn’t magic also about the actual art of creation, engagement and not retreatment from the world? So, this time we wanted to do something different, to really show what Luxembourg means to us and to share our passion for the country with the community. Here’s a word from our Managing Partner – and Luxembourger - Georges Bock:

“Luxembourg can dare to be different in its approach to the world: who needs an ocean to create a beach? We’re such a small country, but we’re having a big impact on an international scale because our way of doing things has an unexpected twist. We, KPMG, really want to contribute to moving forward initiatives that other people believe to be impossible. It’s not because it’s difficult that we shouldn’t take on the challenge. We want to share this can-do feeling with the whole of Luxembourg by joining together in a fun, relaxed atmosphere and looking to the future.”

The beach is open to the public on 13 and 14 June. Find out more on www.kpmgplage.lu
