Talk Jane Austen over tea

Paperjam.lu

DH Lawrence considered her “English in the bad, mean, snobbish sense of the word”, and Vladmir Nabokov didn’t think too highly of her work either.

Yet for many, Jane Austen--with her independent, female heroines--was revolutionary for her time. Her work has spoken to many generations, with plenty of spinoffs to boot.

Opinions aside, 2017 marks the 200th anniversary of the death of Austen, best known for her works such as “Sense and Sensiblity”, “Pride and Prejudice”, “Mansfield Park”, and more.

To celebrate Austen, the Ernster All-English Bookstore will host a celebration where fans can read their favourite selections and have a chance at winning some Austen-related prizes, all over tea and nibbles.
