Solidarity for people fighting cancer

Paperjam.lu

One of the most uplifting and touching events of the year unfolds at the Coque leisure centre in Kirchberg over 24 hours.

The Relais Pour La Vie is a chance to get active, raise money and show your support for people undergoing treatment for cancer.

Each year teams enter the relay, selecting one person to represent them on the track each hour.

This year, 375 teams of between 20 and 40 runners or walkers will take part, with individual participants ranging from children to pensioners.

If you are not already in a team, the opening (6:30p.m. on 1 April) and candlelit ceremonies (5p.m. on 2 April) are well worth a visit.

You can also show solidarity by leaving a handprint on the solidarity wall, purchasing a candle or joining the static cycling team in the centre of the hall.

All proceeds from the event go to Luxembourg’s Fondation and the American Cancer Society.
