The main road along the Moselle river will give way to runners as they complete an impressive 21 kilometres in late September. The race takes place just as the grapes in the vineyards that line the route are ripe for harvest.
Winners of the race, which was first held in 1962, may be amongst the best runners in the world and the grand duchy, but the majority of runners compete for fun.
Anyone above the age of 18 is eligible for inscription and must do so online before the event. For children aged 10-13, there is a shorter 1.5 km race on the same day, and for children aged 6-9, a 0.7km race.
