Paperjam.lu

Take part in the Red Rock Challenge in Luxembourg’s southern, red rock country, while exploring this region’s cultural heritage.

Sporty people can choose from the trail run, a 10.5-kilometre sight-seeing race starting and finishing at the Lycée Belval on 14 October. The race, which takes runners on three laps, sets off at 12 noon ending at 2pm.

For those who enjoy mountain biking and running, there will be the x-duathlon, also on 14 October. This race takes riders from the Lycée Belval to the Fond-de-Gras historical site.

From the transition zone, participants finish with a 9.6-kilometre trail through the Giele Botter nature reserve in what was once an open pit mine. The last leg is a 18.2-kilometre bike ride finishing at the Lycée Belval. The race begins at 6pm and ends and it is possible to enter as a team.

Hardcore sportspeople may want to check out the mountain bike day on 15 October. Riders will power along a 38.9-kilometre route taking in the region’s main tourist points. It starts at 10am.
