Actors Rep has unveiled details of its next show, a production of “The Guys” by Anne Nelson.

Directed by Erik Abbott, the “The Guys” is set in the days after the attacks on the World Trade Center on 11 September 2001. Peter Zazzali and Christine Probst (photo) play Nick and Joan, a New York City firehouse captain and a journalist. Nick's firehouse lost eight men in the aftermath of the attacks. The families ask him to speak at the lost men's memorials. Paralysed by grief, Joan agrees to meet with Nick to help him honour his lost comrades.  Watch the trailer here.

Zazzali, Probst and Abbott were all living in Manhattan on the day of the attacks and in the months following. Their experiences and memories inform this production of this profoundly moving play about what one critic called 'the braveries of grief'.

This is Actors Rep’s first production at Bamhaus, the co-working space and community of artists and creative industries in Dommeldange, where the company recently began a residency.

The show at 8 p.m. each evening, opens on 30 May and continues until 2 June and then again from 4 to 6 June. An additional matinée is scheduled for Saturday 2 June at 3 p.m.
