Luxembourg Light Festival

Paperjam.lu

Luxembourg City brings a welcome warm glow in the winter gloom with a new edition of the Luxembourg Light Festival.

What’s different this year, however, is that instead of three different light shows, the city will organise an eight-part trail highlighting the capital’s architecture.

Participants can walk from place Guillaume II to the National Museum of History and Art, via place Clairefontaine, rue du Saint-Esprit, the old fortifications and the chemin de la Corniche. Along the way, they can watch and even take part in a series of interactive audiovisual installations, video projections and light games.

Light Festival highlights

In place Clairefontaine, visitors will be able to listen to music under a sky of illuminated balloons. In rue du Saint-Esprit, designers will create a mysterious winter wonderland with fog and laser light projections. Beside the archives will be a movement sensitive installation, that only comes alive when people pass by. For those who like to be filmed, don’t miss the Corniche where for 10 seconds your image will be projected onto the wall. In addition to the installations, visitors can check out food stands along the trail.
