Paperjam.lu

Luxembourg performance artists Sylvia Camarda and Serge Tonnar have put together what promises to be an emotional show featuring the real life stories of refugees.

Based on missives that refugees have written, “Letters From Luxembourg” will feature refugees and local artists performing movement, music and readings--among those listed in the cast are Tara Donnell, Linda Bonvini and Gianfranco Cellestino.

The texts being performed are real or imagined messages, letters sent home to family left behind, love letters, even excerpts from official letters. They are packed with humour and sadness, feelings of homesickness and hope, but have one thing in common--a link to people who in Luxembourg now.

As the directors put it: “These refugees of today, are the ancestors of the new Luxembourgers in 100 years. There won’t be any differences anymore. The people from ‘Letters from Luxembourg’ show already today what that means. They are the people of the new Luxembourg.”
