Since 1968, the festival takes place around the beautiful 11th century church, where clubs and associations set up stalls to sell food, and naturally Diekirch beer. There is live music on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays; on Mondays there is the annual card game competition of "Kontramitt", and that is usually one of the quieter nights. Fridays and Tuesdays are the most popular, and the place is heaving--weather permitting.
The local brewery even produces a special beer just for those days. However, the festival has become so popular that it has spread through the rest of town, and cafés in the pedestrian high street are also always brimming with people.
