Fundraise for cancer research

Paperjam.lu

A host of family-friendly events are planned for Walferdange as part of the Télévie cancer research fundraising campaign.

Festivities kick off at 7am with a box stacking challenge, followed by a 5.6 kilometre jog/walk at 8am to work up an appetite for the breakfast concert at 9am. Petrol heads won’t want to miss the Ferrari car exhibition at 9:30am, which dovetails nicely with a vintage tractor exhibition opening at 10am. From 10am onwards, people can donate bone marrow at the donation booth.

There then follows a range of accessible sports activities, such as welly boot chucking, Qi Gong and a 10-kilometre walk for foodies featuring 8 food stops. Anyone in need of a trim can get their haircut for charity between 12 noon and 2pm.

Highlights from the afternoon include a hot-air balloon workshop from 2pm to 6pm, spinning, basketball and lots of concerts ranging from bagpipes to jazz and Portuguese folklore. The day is rounded off with “Fada’s Family”, an international transformist show at 8pm.

The full programme can be viewed below.

All funds raised from the day will be donated to Télévie Luxembourg, an initiative supporting cancer research.
