Fête de l’Europe

Paperjam.lu

Celebrate 68 years since the idea of a peaceful European Union was first put forward at this gathering of nations in Luxembourg City.

On 9 May 1950, then French foreign affairs minister Robert Schuman made his famous declaration in Paris for a new political cooperation in Europe preventing war on the continent.

To mark the landmark, Luxembourg will host a European village with stands for each of the member states in place d’Armes and place Jan Palach. In addition to offering information and food about the countries, visitors can also see folk dances and hear music from member countries.

Access is free and the event promises to be family-friendly.
