Deconstructing the Brexit debacle: What role for the EU27?

Paperjam.lu

You are kindly invited to an open meeting organised jointly by the Oxford University Society of Luxembourg and the Cambridge Society of Luxembourg where the questions below, and many more, will be addressed:

  • What is the state of play of the Brexit negotiations?
  • What are the possible outcomes? No deal, “hard” or “soft” Brexit, no Brexit? Is the UK heading for a constitutional crisis?
  • What is the process between now and 29 March 2019?
  • What is the “transition period”?
  • Should the Article 50 period be extended?
  • Should there be a “People’s Vote”?
  • What role for the EU27?
  • What can we do next?

John Speed, retired director of the European Court of Auditors and secretary of the CSL, and Stephen McCarthy retired head of division at the EIB and a member of the OUSL, who are both active anti-Brexit campaigners, will talk on the topic before opening the meeting to a general discussion. Refreshments will follow.

A contribution of €10 is asked to cover the cost of refreshments and room hire.
