Celebrate local cider

Paperjam.lu

To celebrate International Cider Day on 3 June, Ramborn is opening its doors for a free cider tasting.

Visitors will be able to sample Ramborn’s award-winning ciders, including a new Cascade hopped version, which promises to deliver a slightly tropical, fruity punch.

The Ramborn Cider Haff (farm and shop), located in the east Luxembourg town of Born along the banks of the Sauer, offers guided visits hourly for the event.

During the celebration, visitors can also grab a free map to hike the adjacent meadow orchards which, according to the company’s founder and CEO, Carlo Hein, “take at least 31 years to reach maturity” after which time “they will stay productive for at least another 50 years”.

The Born-native opened the cider centre one year ago both to have a physical presence for the label but also because Hein is committed to the preservation of the local orchards. As he told Delano following the site’s opening, “Having a cider with others means sharing history, family history, and simply the love of a good drink.”

According to the event organisers, children and dogs are also welcome to attend.
