The children’s fantasy novel, which was published in 1937, was so successful it gave rise to the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, which was recently made into a series of films.
Set in a time between the “dawn of Faerie” and “dominion of men”, “The Hobbit” follows hobbit Bilbo Baggins on his question to win a share of the treasure guarded by Smaug the dragon.
The novel has been adapted to the stage by Glyn Robins. In addition to four evening performances from 25-28 March there will be two matinées at 2:30pm on 25 and 26 March.
