BCC afterwork legal event

Paperjam.lu

The British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg  is organizing an Afterwork legal event: "Renting a home in Luxembourg: all you need to know about Luxembourg's residential tenancy laws," with guest speakers Stéphanie Juan, counsel and Paulo Lopes Da Silva, partner, Molitor avocats à la Cour.

Most of us will find ourselves involved in a residential lease agreement - at least once in a lifetime - whether as landlord or tenant or sometimes both. It's essential for each of us to know and understand correctly the rules of the residential tenancy laws in order to have a full picture of our rights and obligations. This will avoid conflict situations and lead to harmonious rental relationships.

Most of the lease agreements in Luxembourg are governed by the law of 21 September 2006 as amended which is about to be modified again. The original purpose of this law was to protect equally the interests of both landlords and tenants.

The major goals of this presentation are to provide you with answers to basic/practical legal questions that both landlords and tenants should bear in mind when entering into a residential lease agreement as well as to highlight the rights and obligations of each party from the signature of the contract until its termination. the speakers will also touch on the basic aspects of relevant judicial proceedings.

The evening will begin at 17.00 with registrations, conference at 17.30, which will be followed by a networking cocktail & canapés.
