“The artists started their collaboration in 2002. In 2012 they won the award of the residency of La Cité Internationale des Artistes in Paris,” according to the Zidoun-Bossuyt Gallery. “They showed at the Luxembourg Pavilion at the Biennale di Venezia in 2011.”
Their 6 month residency in the former factory in Belval allowed them to initiate a reflection on the consequences of the evolution of the production technologies.
Now the result is on display in Esch-Belval.
Feipel and Bechameil “have been intrigued by the disproportionate and surreal nature of the remains of the former factory”, said the Zidoun-Bossuyt Gallery. For their installation “Ballet of destruction” they chose to stage some of these obsolete objects and stress the particularities of the exhibition space.
