Since 2006, the Fondation Cancer in Luxembourg regroups cancer sufferers, their friends and family and supporters in a 12 or 24-hour relay. The event counts teams of 20 to 40 participants who for 24 hours will take turns to run or walk the relay.
For one weekend, cancer patients are the hero. Relais pour la Vie is not a sports event, it is above all a solidarity event where the fight of the patients is represented by 10,478 participants, 375 teams, 335 volunteers and 180 survivors and caregivers, symbolising their strength in their daily battle.
The opening ceremony on Saturday evening will start the relais, followed by the “Survivor & Caregiver Tour” and the launch of the relay at 8pm.
A stunning candlelight ceremony will take place on Sunday, marking the closing of Relais pour la Vie 2018.
